Meet at 30 Wyckoff Avenue for a two-hour Bushwick walk through the Bushwick Collective. Your English-speaking guide, sometimes an artist such as Nick, Caty, or Jeff, explains murals, tags, wheatpaste, and local history. Expect an easy pace, outdoor art, and plenty of color, with the tour ending on Bogart Street.

“Our guide was a friendly, hospitable and whose interest and passion for the subject and the community involved was evident. I was hoping to gain a little more insight into the historical background of graffiti in the borough, however, as mentioned along the way, the art out there doesn’t always last very long and so it makes sense to focus on the present. Much of the artwork was tremendous and we were even lucky enough to meet a couple of the artists actually on the street as we walked around.”

Miami: Wynwood Graffiti Experience

10.Wynwood Graffiti Experience

★★★★★★★★★★4.4 · 47 reviews · from $42

Spend one hour in Wynwood learning spray-paint basics from an instructor such as Emily. You’ll practice dots, lines, lettering, drop shadows, patterns, and color gradients before creating your own canvas artwork. The small group is limited to eight, with supplies, masks, and gloves provided. Wear clothes that can handle a few paint specks.

“The good: It is a fun and funky experience. I think it would work well with something else, not by itself, something to make it part of spending a while in Wynwood. It would be cool to have a tour guided by an artist. The bad: The address in the confirmation was confusing (#402, we entered through #404). The setup is not great if it rains. I would have liked a bigger canvas, perhaps an actual wall! Overall: great time, combined with other activities in Wynwood... and there are plenty: Walls, restaurants, boutiques, walking and more.”
